Summers are now started and it can be a challenging season for our skin. The scorching sun and the unbearable heat can cause considerable damage to our skin and it also deprive us of the glow and the softness. The increase in temperature also makes our skin feels oily and more uncomfortable. It is very crucial to protect our skin in this summers from any more breakouts and damages, here’s a guide to a skin care routine that’ll protect your skin throughout this summer and will keep your skin fresh , hydrated and glowing. Also I will recommend some awesome products that you can use to glow and to look fresh and hydrated.

1. Cleanse your face with a mild cleanser

Face cleansing is the most important step in one's skin care routine. It is very essential to remove all the dirt, impurities and oiliness from the skin and to cleanse properly so that the chances of getting any breakouts cancel out. Always use a mild cleanser according to your skin type for your skin. It should cleanse your skin without stripping it's natural oil.

If you have normal, dry or sensitive skin you can go with Cetaphil gentle skin cleanser as it is soap free and it has non-irritating formula that cleanse your skin very gently and is very mild yet effective on the skin. It will not dry out your skin after washing, it moisturizes and soothes the skin well.

If you have oily, combination or acne prone skin you can go with Cetaphil oily skin cleanser. It's Gentle foaming, non-irritating formula is specially formulated for oily, pimple-prone and combination skin and suitable for sensitive skin. It deeply cleanses and help minimize pores without stripping skin of it's natural moisture.

Pro tip: Always apply your cleanser on wet skin and massage it for least 60 sec and then rinse it off with water. This will give your cleanser a good time to work and cleanse your skin properly.

2. Sooth your skin with a good Toner

A good toner can be effective in closing open pores it also maintains the PH level of your skin and gives you a refreshed look. You should always look for toners which are alcohol free.

For normal, dry and sensitive skin you can use Plum Bulgarian valley rose water toner or 3% Niacinamide Toner with rice water as it helps you in minimizing the pores and provides you clear, blemish free skin.

For oily, combination or acne prone skin you can go with Plum Green tea alcohol free toner and also 3% Niacinamide Toner with rice water. It will help in shrinking the pores, controls the excess oil production and will keep your skin clear.

3. Correct your skin concerns by using a Face Serum

A good Face Serum can be effective in order to correct your skin concerns. There are a lot of serums with different active ingredients are available in the market but you have to choose one as per your skin concern. Here I am mentioning which serum will work best if included in your morning skin care.

Vitamin C: If you have no such skin concern but you want to add glow, prevent sun damage, even skin tone and a brighter complexion then, Vitamin C is the best active ingredient for you. You should apply it daily on dry skin after cleansing. Don't forget to wear a sunscreen after using Vitamin C. The powerful duo of Vitamin C and sunscreen will help you to fight free radicles and it will prevent sun damage, tanning and uneven skin tone.

Vitamin C is proven to provide bright ,even skin tone if is used daily with sunscreen in the morning. It is the best active ingredient for this summer.

Vitamin C is safe for most skin types. But for extra safety always do a patch test before applying a product on your face. Concentration of Vitamin C in a serum is very important. If you are a beginner use a concentration which is less than or equal to 10% but not more than that. But if you are some one who has used 10% Vitamin C for at least 6 months and now your skin is comfortable with it then you can use 15% concentration of Vitamin C.

You can try Plum, The derma co or Foxtale Vitamin C serums but mind the concentration.

4. Moisturize well

Many people think that it is not necessary to moisturize your skin in summers but this is not true. A moisturizer is a vital to protect your skin in summer. You should avoid using greasy and heavy moisturizer in summers. Instead you can use gel based moisturizers with anti-oxidants like Vitamin A or C which don't clog your pores i.e. noncomedogenic.

You can try Cetaphil Dam lotion , Dot and key ceramide face cream or Ponds superlight gel.

5. Protect your Skin from Sun damage

It is the most important step of skin care to wear a sunscreen. Even if you are staying at home apply sunscreen at least once in order to avoid any sun damage to your skin. Always use a SPF 50 Sunscreen and with a rating of at least PA+++. No matter how expensive skin care products you use but if you are skipping on sunscreen the sun will reverse all the goodness that you are getting from your skin care and all your money on the skin care will get wasted. So, include a good sunscreen in your morning skin care routine applying it with two fingers rule and at least 20 minutes before you are going out in sun.

You can choose sunscreen as per your skin types. If you want matte finish look you can use Lakme Sun expert lotion with SPF 50 PA+++ or Dr Sheth's Niacinamide and Centella Sunscreen with SPF 50 and PA+++ rating.

If you want dewy finish you can go with Aqualogica Glow + Dewy Sunscreen with SPF 50 and PA+++ rating.

6. Wear a lip balm

Always wear a good , hydrating lip balm in order to keep your lips soft and hydrated. Wear a lip balm with SPF in order to protect them from sun damage and becoming dark.

You can use Minimalist lip balm with SPF 30 to protect your lips from sun damage and to hydrate them.

So, With this our summer morning skin care routine gets completed. You can comment down your thoughts and your product recommendations also. I will be sharing a night time skin care routine with you all sooner until then stay happy and keep others happy. Bye....
