Sandra Eckert, a 70-year-old woman, living in a suburb of Milwaukee, Wisconsin was reported missing on March 26th, 2021. It is reported that she left her home late at night after having an argument with her husband, Wes Eckert, Sr.
Sandra was reported as driving a 2005 dark grey Dodge Stratus with the license plate 319 LGT. The Muskego Police Department last saw her vehicle at 3 am on March 27th, 2021. The car was traveling south on Crowbar Drive.
She was reported missing by her daughter after she did not show up to Easter Brunch, according to TMJ4.
Sergeant Jeremy Fadness said in April of this year that they were following numerous leads. These leads led to checking bodies of water near where Sandra’s car had last been spotted.
Sergeant Fadness told People,
“We no longer have a missing person investigation. We have a homicide investigation and we have identified two people of interest. The investigation had touched the hearts of the officers and investigators and we are dedicated to finding out what happened to Mrs. Eckert.”
Police have confirmed that they executed a search warrant at a Waukesha home. This warrant was in relation to the case for first-degree intentional homicide and hiding a corpse. It lead to an arrest, but the man was later released.
Police have no one in custody. There are two people of interest that were known to Sandra Eckert.
While Wes Eckert Sr. maintains that he had nothing to do with his wife’s disappearance, his children believe he may be to blame. Kelsey and Wes Jr. are both suspicious of their father. Wes Jr. claims that his father had “not assisted in the search in any way.”
Wes Sr. has been quoted as saying,
“Some of my kids think I did something. I didn’t and I didn’t hire anybody to do anything, either.”
He believes that their suspicions are tied to an argument he and Sandra had the night before she disappeared. The argument was over his late mother’s will. Wes Sr.’s sisters received more from the will than he did and he claims that he was fine with this because his sisters had taken care of their mother. “My wife was insisting I go up there and contest the will in our favor.” He claims he refused to do so.
During their argument, Wes Sr. says Sandra got dressed and said “you’ll be hearing from my lawyer.” She appeared to be preparing to leave the home. He claims to have taken her keys and told her they would talk about it the following day.
“That’s basically the last I’d seen here,” he said.
According to Wes Sr., Sandra took several thousand dollars in cash when she left on the night of March 26th. He believes that her death could be related to the money and foul play.
“Having a bundle of cash in the wrong neighborhood, that could get you in trouble. She wouldn’t run out on her kids and grandkids.”
Sandra’s family is offering a $50,000 reward if a tip leads to a conviction. They have a Facebook page dedicated to finding Sandra as well as a website.
Sandra is 5'7" and weighs 130 lbs. At the time of her disappearance, she had short blonde hair. Her eyes are green.
