More than a decade ago, a movie got released, and we had a new superhero to obsess over. It progressed into the Marvel all movie saga. The Marvel cinematic universe has over 20 interlinked movies. It can get confusing to figure out the exact connection between these movies. As a result, they are divided into 3 phases so far. The story begins with the formation of the Avengers and ends with their resurrection of sorts. Along the way, we see several sacrifices, romantic set-ups, and betrayals. In this Marvel movie list, we briefly explore each movie to glue the universe together.
Phase One
The purpose of this part is to introduce us to the characters. The Marvel movie list is long, and character knowledge is the base of everything else.
1. Iron Man
The beginning of it all, this movie introduced us to Tony Stark and the Iron Man suit. It was meant to be a teaser for something much bigger and did s perfect execution.
2. The Incredible Hulk
This story portrays how Bruce Banner turned into the Hulk following a failed experiment. He also tries to cure himself. It is one of the movies the fandom sometimes chooses to skip. It is part of the universe.
3. Iron Man 2
This movie served the purpose of introducing Black Widow. It is framed as a story of revenge, targeting Tony Stark. It is also a teaser for Thor as Phil Coulson investigates Mjolnir in New Mexico.
4. Thor
We finally kick off with this legend’s story as Thor roams Earth in discomfort. Stripped of his powers within his hammer, he encounters the Hawkeye and S.H.I.E.L.D. Drama ensues as Loki is introduced, and the post-credits tease us ahead of the next film.
5. Captain America: The First Avenger
The First Avenger: One of our favourite characters and ships from the Marvel movies list begins with this movie. The crucial character of Avengers faces the Red Skull and H.Y.D.R.A. forces.
6. The Avengers
This unites all the main characters from the previous movies to work together. Loki, thanks to his mischievous nature and possession of the Mind Stone and Tesseract, pits them against one another. It gives us a glimpse into the inevitable destruction Thanos would bring.
Phase Two
This Marvel movie list captures the adventures of our characters separately. It is like the silence before the storm, as our characters await great disasters in the next phase.
7. Iron Man 3
Tony Stark, crippled with panic attacks from the events of Avengers, deals with another villain. Rhodes and Pepper Potts step in to help defeat the mastermind. The takeaway is the relationship between Tony and Bruce, which survives despite the adversity.
8. Thor: The Dark World
The Dark World: We finally get a detailed take on Thor, as he deals with dark elf Malekith. These matters are worsened, as Loki is imprisoned in Asgard and Jane Foster gets her hands onto Aether. Loki eventually turns the tables impersonating Odin. The reality stone ends up with the Collector.
9. Captain America: The Winter Soldier
The Winter Soldier: Steve Rogers finds out that H.Y.D.R.A. is still thriving and threatening. This political thriller showcases the biggest fight so far. Adding to the crew, we get a short introduction of Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch.
10. Guardians of the Galaxy
Peter Quill inadvertently finds the Power Stone, putting the spotlight on the Infinity Stones for the first time. The ensuing chain of events causes five strangers to band together as a family. Groot, Gamora, Star-Lord, Drax and Rocket Racoon open a door of possibilities in the universe.
11. Avengers: Age of Ultron
Tony Stark makes a return, this time to build Ultron. As expected, nothing goes as planned. Ultron decides that the best way to maintain peace on Earth is to destroy all humanity. They eventually have to take out Ultron.
12. Ant-Man
Scott Lang finds out about the Quantum Realm and stops Yellowjacket. Scott has to steal technology wearing an old Ant-Man suit. Hank’s daughter is more suited for the job, but she gets her suit later.
Phase Three
This part captures the apprehension among the characters. This segment from the Marvel movie list turns more burdening with each movie but ends in a bitter-sweet resolve.
13. Captain America: Civil War
Our Avengers, who we already recognize as superheroes, are now required to register as Superheroes by the Sokovia Accords. Many of them have to hide as they are forced to take sides. Spider-man and Black Panter make their first appearance. Iron Man and Captain America have to face personal adversities due to their feud.
14. Doctor Strange
Dr Strange is disappointed with medicine and therapy failed to cure his hands. He turns to sorcery, guided by the Ancient One. He hinders the work of Kaecilius and Dormammu using the Time Stone.
15. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol:2
This is essentially a family drama. Peter starts bonding with Ego the Living Planet. Gamora’s difficult relationship with Nebula further complicates the family dynamic. The bad guy turns out to be Ego, and the guardians once again save the galaxy from destruction.
16. Spiderman: Homecoming
Homecoming: The young gun of the lot, Peter Parker, aka Spiderman, finds it difficult to return to his normal life. He is thrilled following his experience with the Avengers and is mentored by Iron Man.
17. Thor: Ragnarok
Hela, Thor’s sister, destroys the Mjolnir and tries to become the ruling power of Asgard. Thor, unaware of his potential, is sent across the galaxy. He can only defeat Hela with assistance from Valkyrie, Loki and Hulk.
18. Black Panther
This movie centres around the land of Wakanda. T’Challa takes the throne of Wakanda following his father's demise in the Civil War. However, his hidden cousin shows up and stirs drama.
19. Avengers: Infinity War
Infinity War: This movie wipes out the Avengers and foreshadows the introduction of Captain Marvel. Thanos, the mad titan goes overboard with his plan to obtain the infinity stones. He eventually succeeds and the efforts of the Guardians and Avengers prove useless.
20. Ant-Man and the Wasp
Following the newfound connection to Janet during Scott’s house arrest, Hank and his daughter try to save her from the Quantum Realm. Ghost stands in-between being a threat to this plan.
21. Captain Marvel
Carol Danvers, an Air Force pilot in 1995, discovers the bigger story behind the war she is fighting. This movie shows her origin story as she unravels the circumstances behind her powers.
22. Avengers Endgame
This movie showcased the sacrifices made by the remaining Avengers. They obtain the previous versions of the Infinity Stones and reverse the actions of Thanos. Iron Man kills Thanos, losing his life in the process.
23. Spiderman: Far From Home
Far from Home: Peter Parker is still haunted by the event from Endgame. His romance with MJ blossoms during this time, but thanks to his bad luck, adversity follows him wherever he goes. His identity is revealed to the entire world as a consequence of him defeating Mysterio.

We grieved our lost heroes, but the show must go on. The next phase in this journey will further extend the boundaries of this universe.

These tales are loved, by children and adults alike. Several youtube channels are dedicated, to the Marvel universe. Marvel all movie series inspire us and give us a context for our perception of the world.
You can love or hate the Marvel series, but you cannot ignore it. The arrangement of these movies make us feel like the series has a definitive start and end, but there is more to come. The eight more additions will bring some more drama to the story. We grew up with these stories.
The Marvel movie list will hopefully continue to entertain more generations.
