Well, ever heard the above phrase. Simple yet provocative when uttered through a soft voice in your heart. And who better than actor Shia LaBeouf to scream those words.

Some define this voice as a “calling.” Say what? I define it as “destiny.” In the book, The Alchemist, Santiago is a boy whose profession is a shepherd. He dreams of far lands, and with intuition, hopes that one day he would visit them. He journeys through vast adventures while adopting various lifestyles, meeting new friends, and escaping ordeals of nature.

A thing I learned from the above is that we may all dream of far lands spread with rivers having gold beds, laded with beautiful birds, and blessed with kind weather, yet this all is within your reach in your land. I am not trying to be a motivational speaker, yet I am tasked with the thrill it jolts down.

Am I being the same age as the boy with nothing to sabotage or salvage wonder? What is my destiny? What is it that this voice whispers? Has it already spoken? And did I not hear its voice? Trying to figure out the equation all by myself in the turmoil of a distressed tide called life.

In essence, to the shoe giant Nike's slogan “Just do it” whose backstory is quite surprising. That's the same solution I discovered when the quest to answer the million-dollar question became inevitable.

This was not a ride in the park. Having to dismiss friends, party proposals, and mostly risking time to fight for what I gotta do. You get it the best part of my life. Or what I believe to be my destiny! The soul searching was intense, having to practice the overload of info the web provides about chasing one’s dreams. Or the pressure from the unnecessary hours in “school.” Learning what has been known to every man. A joke to say the least.

Contrastingly, while thinking to myself like the eureka fanatic I am, another challenge was posed. What if destiny does not lie in our hands but in the hands of a mighty superior being we call God? Religious or spiritual, I was raised to believe in the capability of Him. You too may have come to this judgment.

What I did next was what I intended. I just took a pen and paper and drafted my first romantic poem for my dear cousin. Remembering this ah-ha moment still rushes chills to my stomach. The feeling was near-magical and since then, whatever the hearts whispers is what I do.

And this being the first blog I just did it. Saw Medium through a friend’s space and voila, my hands jumbled their way through the keyboard. Remember, it’s never the right time to try anything than today.

Well, unlike Santiago, you do not have to go the long mile to actualize your destiny. Why wait for 30 years when 20 is great? Why keep the earth waiting in distress for a much-needed talent?
