The Commonwealth Games is a quadrennial International multi-sport event among athletes. The event started in the year 1930 and has been enjoyed since then. The events are inclusive of athletes with disabilities as a full member in the para-category. The Commonwealth Games were inspired by the Inter-Empire Championship. The Games are held all around the globe by different countries turn-by-turn.
Gold Medallists-

1. P.V. Sindhu- Badminton
Pusarla Venkata Sindhu lovingly known as P.V. Sindhu; The Indian badminton player won a gold medal for India in Commonwealth Games 2022 in Badminton Women’s Single category. She won a silver medal in the Olympics held in Rio- De-Janerio and a bronze medal in Tokyo Olympics.
2. Lakshya Sen- Badminton
The Indian Badminton player Lakshya Sen, former world number 1 clinched gold for India in the Commonwealth Games 2022 in the Badminton Men Singles category. He won a bronze medal in Asia Team Championship and a gold medal in Youth Olympic Games held in 2018.
3. Vinesh Phogat – Wrestling
The Indian professional wrestler Vinesh Phogat a former gold medal winner won a gold medal for India again in Commonwealth Games 2022 in Wrestling Women Freestyle- 53 kg category. She previously won a silver medal in Youth Wrestling Championship and a gold medal in Asia Championships.
4. Nikhat Zareen- Boxing
The professional Indian boxer Nikhat Zareen won a gold medal for the country in Commonwealth Games 2022 in Boxing Women’s Light Flyweight category. She previously won a gold medal in World Championship and a bronze medal in Asian Championship.
5. Ravi Kumar Dahiya- Wrestling
The professional freestyle wrestler Ravi Kumar Dahiya won a gold medal for the country in Commonwealth Games 2022 in Wrestling Men Freestyle- 57 kg category. He previously won a silver medal in Tokyo Olympics and a bronze medal in World Championships.
6. Naveen Malik- Wrestling
The freestyle wrestler Naveen Malik won a gold medal for the country in Commonwealth Games 2022 in Wrestling Men Freestyle- 74 kg category by defeating Muhammad Sharif Tahir of Pakistan by 9-0.
7. Sharath Kamal – Table Tennis
The professional table tennis player Sharath Kamal won a gold medal for the country in Commonwealth Games in the Table Tennis Men Single category. He is the first Indian man to hold the record of ten times Senior National Championship. He previously won a bronze medal in Asia n Championships.
8. Nitu Ghanghas- Boxer
The professional Indian female boxer, Nitu Ghanghas clinched a gold medal for the country in Commonwealth Games 2022 in Boxing- Minimumweight category.
She is also two times World Youth Champion and has previously won a gold medal in earlier held commonwealth games.
9. Amit Panghal- Boxer
The professional Indian boxer Amit Panghal won a gold medal for the country in Commonwealth Games in 2022 in the Boxing Light Flyweight category. He had previously won a silver medal in World Championships held in 2019 and a gold medal in Asian Championships.
10. Bajrang Punia- Wrestling
The professional Indian Wrestler Bajrang Punia won a gold medal for the country in Commonwealth Games 2022 in Wrestling Men Freestyle- 65 kg category. He had previously won a gold medal in Asian Championships and a silver medal in World U23 Championships.
11. Sakshi Malik- Wrestling
The professional Indian wrestler Sakshi Malik won a gold medal for the country in Commonwealth Games in 2022 in Wrestling Women’s Freestyle- 62 Kg category. She had previously won a gold medal in Asian Junior Championship. She got awarded with Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award in 2016.
12. Deepak Punia- Wrestling
The professional Indian wrestler Deepak Punia won a gold medal for the country in Commonwealth Games in 2022 in Wrestling Men’s Freestyle- 86 kg category. He had previously won a gold medal in World Junior Wrestling Championship and a bronze medal in Asian Championships.
13. Mirabai Chanu- Weightlifting
The hope for India Saikhom Mirabai Chanu won a gold medal for the country in Commonwealth Games 2022 in Weightlifting Women- 49 kg. She had previously won a silver medal for the country in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and a gold medal in World Championships. Mirabai also got awarded with Padma Shri in 2018.
14. Jeremy Lalrinnunga- Weightlifting
The professional Indian weightlifter Jeremy Lalrinnunga won a gold medal for India in Commonwealth Games 2022 in Weightlifting Men- 67 kg. He is also a former commonwealth games winner as he won a gold medal in 2021.
15. Achinta Sheuli- Weightlifting
The professional weightlifter Achinta Sheuli won a gold medal for India in Commonwealth Games 2022 in Weightlifting Men’s – 73 kg. He has previously won two gold medals in previously held Commonwealth Games.
16. Lawn Bowls – A team of women
The professional Indian team of lawn balls consisting of Lovely Choubey, Pinki Singh, Nayanmoni Saikia, and Rupa Rani Tirkey clinched a gold medal for India in Commonwealth Games in 2022 in Lawn Bowls Women’s Four categories. This is India’s first win in Lawn Bowls.
17. Bhavina Patel- Table Tennis
The professional Indian Para athlete Bhavina Patel won a gold medal for India in Commonwealth Games 2022 in the Table Tennis Women’s Single 3-5 category. She had previously won a silver medal in Tokyo Paralympics Games held in 2020 for the country.
18. Eldhose Paul- Triple Jump
The professional Indian triple jump athlete Eldhose Paul won a gold medal for India in Commonwealth Games in 2022 in Men’s Triple Jump category. His personal best record is 16.99m.
19. Sharath Kamal, Sreeja Akula- Table Tennis
The professional Indian Tennis Team Players Sharath Kamal and Sreeja Akula won a gold medal for India in Commonwealth Games in 2022 in the Table Tennis Mixed Team category. Both athletes have a fair share of previous wins or medals in their bags.
20. Satwiksairaj Rankireddy, Chirag Shetty- Badminton
The Indian professional team of Badminton Players Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty won a gold medal for the country in Commonwealth Games in 2022 in Badminton Men’s Double category. The pair holds the first men’s doubles pair from India to be ranked in the top 10 of the BWF World Ranking.
21. Sanil Shetty and team - Table Tennis Player
The professional Indian team of four table tennis players consisting of Sharath Kamal, Sathiyan Ganasekaran, Harmeet Desai, and Sanil Shetty won a gold medal for the country in the Commonwealth Games 2022 in the Table Tennis Men category.
22. Sudhir- Powerlifter
The professional Para Powerlifter Sudhir won a gold medal for India in the Commonwealth Games 2022 in Powerlifting Men’s Heavy Weight. He lifted 212 kg successfully in his lift.
Silver Medalist
1. Indian Women’s Cricket Team- Cricket
The Indian Women’s cricket team won a silver medal for the country in Commonwealth Games 2022 in the Cricket category. The team lost the match against the Australian team and were bashed by previous captains as they considered their loss as a win given to Australians on a golden platter.
2. Sanket Sagar- Weightlifting
The Indian professional weightlifter Sanket Mahadev Sagar won a silver medal for the country in Commonwealth Games 2022 in Weightlifting Men’s- 55kg category. He also holds a national and commonwealth game of 256 Kg in Men’s 55 Kg weight class.
3. Bindyarani Devi- Weightlifting
The Indian professional weightlifter Bindyarani Devi won a silver medal for the country in Commonwealth Games 2022 in Weightlifting Women- 55 Kg. She previously won a gold medal in Commonwealth Weightlifting Championship in 2019 and a silver medal for the same in 2021.
4. Sushila Likmabam- Judo
The professional judoka Sushila Likmabam won a silver medal for the country in Commonwealth Games 2022 in Judo Women – 48 Kg. She had previously won a gold medal in South Asian Games in 2019 in 48 Kg. She also qualified for the 2020 Summer Olympics as the only representative of Indian judoka.
5. Vikas Thakur- Weightlifting
The professional weightlifter Vikas Thakur won a silver medal for the country in Commonwealth Games 2022 in Weightlifting Men- 96 Kg. He had previously won many medals in different categories. His recent winning of a bronze medal in the 2021 Commonwealth Games.
6. Tulika Mann- Judo
The professional judoka Tulika Mann won a silver medal for the country in Commonwealth Games 2022 in Judo Women’s- 78 Kg. She recently won a gold medal in the South Asian Games 2019 in 78 Kg.
7. Murali Sreeshankar- Long Jump
The Indian professional athlete Murali Sreeshankar won a silver medal for the country in Commonwealth Games 2022 in Men’s Long Jump category. Murali also holds a national record of 8.36 m. He had previously won a bronze medal in Asian Junior Athletics Championships.
8. Anshu Malik- Wrestling
The Indian professional freestyle wrestler Anshu Malik won a silver medal for the country in Commonwealth Games 2022 in Wrestling Women Freestyle- 57 Kg. She is the first Indian women wrestler to win a silver medal at World Championships.
9. Priyanka Goswami- Athletics
The professional athlete Priyanka Goswami won a silver medal for the country in Commonwealth Games 2022 in the Women’s 10 Km Race Walk. She finished at 17 positions in the Tokyo Olympics. She’s also the only woman to win a medal in the 10,000 Racewalk category.
10. Avinash Sable- Athletic
The Indian professional athlete Avinash Sable won a silver medal for the country in Commonwealth Games 2022 in Men’s 3ooo m Steeple Chase category. He recently won a silver medal in the 2019 Asian Athletic Championships.
11. Men’s Hockey Team- Hockey
The Indian professional Men’s Hockey Team won a silver medal for the country in Commonwealth Games 2022 in Hockey Men’s category. They lost the match for a gold medal from the Australian team.
12. Sunil, Navneet, Chandan, and Dinesh- Lawn Bowls
The Indian Men’s Lawn Bowls team won a silver medal in Commonwealth Games 2022 in Lawn Bowls Men’s Four categories. They lost the last match for gold from Northern Irelands as they weren’t able to make even a single pass.
13. Abdulla Aboobacker- Triple Jump
The Indian professional athlete Abdulla Aboobacker won a silver medal for the country in Commonwealth Games 2022 in Men’s Triple Jump category. He had a jump result of 17.02 m in the event.
14. Sharath and G. Sathiyan- Table Tennis
The team of Indian professional table tennis players won a silver medal for the country in Commonwealth Games 2022 in the Table Tennis Men’s Double category. They both have won more than one medal in the Commonwealth Games 2022 in different categories.
15. Sagar Ahlawat- Boxing
The professional Indian boxer who is fast-rising on the path to success, won a silver medal for the country in Commonwealth Games 2022 in Boxing Men’s- 92 Kg. He lost his match for gold against Orie as he was forced to defend as Orie acted as an attacker.
16. Kidambi Srikanth, and Satwik Sairaj- Badminton
The Indian Professional badminton team of Kidambi and Satwik won a silver medal for the country in Commonwealth Games 2022 in the Badminton Mixed Doubles category. Kidambi also won a bronze medal in the commonwealth games held in 2022.

1. Gururaja Poojary- Weightlifting
The professional Indian weightlifter Gururaja Poojary won a bronze medal for the country in the Commonwealth Games 2022 in Weightlifting Men’s- 61 kg category. He had previously won a silver medal in Commonwealth Games held in 2018 in Weightlifting Men- 56 kg category.
2. Lovepreet Singh- Weightlifting
The professional weightlifter Lovepreet Singh who competes in weightlifting in 109 Kg won a bronze medal for the country in Commonwealth Games 2022 in Weightlifting Men’s- 109 Kg category. He had previously won a bronze medal in Asian Youth Championship in 2017 and a gold in Junior Commonwealth Championship.
3. Gurdeep Singh - Weightlifting
The Indian weightlifter Gurdeep Singh won a bronze medal for the country in Commonwealth Games in 2022 in Weightlifting Men’s- 109 kg category. He had previously broken the national record in 105 kg in National Weightlifting Championship.
4. Mohit Grewal – Wrestler
The Indian freestyle wrestler won a bronze medal for the country in Commonwealth Games 2022 in Wrestling Men’s- 125 Kg category. He won the bronze medal against Aaron Johnson of Jamaica. This is his first win in the sport.
5. Harjinder Kaur- Weightlifter
The Indian female weightlifter Harjinder Kaur won a bronze medal for the country in Commonwealth Games 2022 in Weightlifting Women’s- 71 Kg category. She had previously won a silver medal for the country in Commonwealth Games. She won against Joy Ogbonne Eze in the event held in 2022.
6. Divya Kakran- Wrestler
The Indian female freestyle weightlifter Divya Kakran won a bronze medal for the country in Commonwealth Games in 2022 in Wrestling Women’s- 68 Kg category. She had previously won 60 medals in total in different competitions along with the title of Bharat Kesari eight times.
7. Pooja Gehlot- Wrestler
The female freestyle wrestler Pooja Gehlot won a bronze medal for the country in Commonwealth Games in 2022 in Wrestling Freestyle Women’s- 57 Kg category. She had previously won a silver medal in the U23 World Wrestling Championship in the 53 Kg category.
8. Pooja Sihag- Wrestler
The professional freestyle wrestler Pooja Sihag won a bronze medal for the country in Commonwealth Games in 2022 in Wrestling Freestyle Women’s- 76 Kg category. She had previously won a silver medal in Asian U23 Championship in 76 kg in 2021.
9. Deepak Nehra- Wrestler
The professional freestyle wrestler Deepak Nehra won a bronze medal for the country in Commonwealth Games in 2022 in Wrestling Freestyle Men’s- 97 Kg category. He won against Tayab Raza in the final round of this event.
10. Vijay Kumar Yadav- Judo
The professional Indian judoka Vijay Kumar Yadav won a bronze medal for the country in Commonwealth Games in 2022 in Judo Men’s- 60 Kg category. He had previously won a gold medal in South Asian Games in 60 Kg in 2019.
11. Saurav Ghosal- Squash
Saurav Ghosal is a professional Indian squash player who won a bronze medal for the country in Commonwealth Games 2022 in Squash Men’s Singles category. He recently won a gold medal in Asian Individual Championships in 2019. He is the first Indian player to claim his place in World’s top 10 in 2019.
12. Tejaswin Shankar- High Jump
The Indian athlete Tejaswin Shankar won a bronze medal for the country in Commonwealth Games 2022 in Men’s High Jump category. He also holds the high jump National record of 2.29 m. He recently won a silver medal in South Asian Games in 2016.
13. Jasmine- Boxing
Jaismine Lamboria is an Indian boxer who competes in the lightweight category of boxing. She clinched a bronze medal in Commonwealth Games 2022 in Boxing Women’s Lightweight- 60Kg. She lost the match against England’s Gemma Paige in her fight.
14. Mohammad Hussamuddin- Boxer
The Indian featherweight professional boxer Mohammad Hussamuddin won a bronze medal for the country in Commonwealth Games 2022 in Men’s Boxing Feather Weight category. He had previously won a bronze medal in the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
15. Sonalben Patel- Table Tennis
The professional para table tennis player Sonalben Patel won a bronze medal for the country in Commonwealth Games 2022in the Para Table Tennis Women’s Single 3-5 category. She made her Paralympic debut in Olympics in Tokyo Paralympic.
16. Rohit Tokas- Boxing
The professional boxer Rohit Tokas won a bronze medal for the country in Commonwealth Games 2022 in Boxing Men’s Welter Weights- 67 Kg. This was his debut in boxing as a sport. He lost the final match to Zambia’s Stephen Zimba.
17. Women Hockey Team
The Indian Women’s Hockey team led by skipper Savita Punia won a bronze medal for the country in Commonwealth Games 2022 in Hockey Women’s category. This is the team's first win in the event after sixteen years.
18. Sandeep Kumar- Race Walk
The professional Indian race walker Sandeep Kumar won a bronze medal for the country in Commonwealth Games 2022 in Men’s 10,000 Race Walk category. He placed in the thirty-fifth position in Rio-De-Janerio Olympics held in 2016.
19. Annu Rani- Javelin Throw
The female professional Javelin thrower Annu Rani won a bronze medal for the country in Commonwealth Games 2022 in the Women’s Javelin Throw category. She became the first Indian woman in the javelin throw to reach the finals of the World Athletics Championship. She recently won a silver medal in Asian Championships.
20. Saurav Ghosal and Dipika Pallikal- Squash
The Indian team of Saurav Ghosal and Dipika Pallikal won a bronze medal for the country in Commonwealth Games 2022 in the Squash Mixed Doubles category. Dipika is the first woman to break into the top 10 in PSA rankings whereas, Saurav reached a career-high world ranking of World No.10.
21. Kidambi Srikanth- Badminton
The professional badminton player Kidambi Srikanth won a bronze medal for the country in Commonwealth Games 2022 in Badminton Men’s Singles category. He is a former World No. 1 and has been awarded Padma Shri and Arjuna Awards.
22. Gayathri Gopichand and Treesa Jolly- Badminton
The Indian team of Gayathri and Treesa won a bronze medal for the country in Commonwealth Games 2022 in Badminton Women’s Double.
23. G. Sathiyan- Table Tennis
The Indian professional table tennis player G. Sathiyan won a bronze medal for the country in Commonwealth Games 2022 in Table Tennis Men’s Singles. He recently won a gold medal in the ITTF Major in 2021 in Mixed Doubles category.
