I am currently doing a 30-day challenge on Hubpages.com. I decided to focus on health-related topics and life hacks for this challenge. Yesterday, I checked my stats and realised that I made a whopping $420 from one article.
It’s all in the Title
Do you remember the days when print newspapers were all the rage? When your parents would look forward to the Sunday paper? My parents bought a specific newspaper every day and on Sundays, however, sometimes they picked up a random newspaper or magazine based on the front-page headline.
When I worked as a staff writer for one of the top UK broadsheets, our editor would say this at the end of every meeting:
“It’s all in the headline!”
Certain words can increase your click-through rate; however, I didn’t use any of these words in my Hubpages article title.
Some of these words include:
”Easy”
“Shocking”
“Quick”
“Incredible”
“Intriguing”
“Weird”
For this particular article, I used a title that I often see in sponsored posts on websites like CNN.
I recently watched a YouTube video where top affiliate marketing expert Marcus Campbell talked about the importance of studying ads to improve content titles and build content that people want to consume.
If you scroll through websites like CNN and Huffington Post, you will see sponsored posts that look like normal article posts; however, they are native ads that will direct you to an advertorial or blog post from another website.
These titles are intriguing and they tap into your natural human curiosity.
Here is the title of the Hubpages article:
“This will happen to your body if you drink diet soda every day.”
I wrote two articles with similar titles, the other one was titled:
“This will happen to your body if you eat two bananas every day.”
I earned $200 from the second title and more than $400 from the first title.
My Strategy For Building Highly Clickable Content on Hubpages
The goal for my 30-day challenge is to create one article a day for Hubpages. I would like to boost my income from 0 to $1000 a month there however, it takes time.
I will use Jasper.ai, which is an Artificial Intelligence Content writing tool, to assist me in writing highly clickable content for my Hubpages account.

I will focus on posting one article per day
I will write articles with similar titles for the rest of my challenge (this will happen to your body if you…)
I will scroll through websites like CNN, Huffington Post and other online media outlets for inspiration.
I will also list some unusual fruits and vegetables and include those in my list of titles.
Notice that I didn’t do any keyword research for these articles; I used a technique based on Marcus Campbell’s idea that you should study adverts to understand how to create content titles that people want to click on.
