How Writing Molded Me Into The Best Me

To say that discovering my later in life passion of writing was relieving, and let alone lucrative in the long-run from when I acted on it as a full-time job and hobby.

I felt subordinate before I became a writer as opposed to where I stand now, and the constant effort and dedication I have been putting into perfecting this skill has even surprised me seeing the lengths I go to get a story out.

I am hardly saying at the very least that writing has changed me from what I was; to a complete 180. One day possibly, but certainly not now. People that know me however, have said remarkable things of how strictly I have taken writing into my life.

A strong transition that I have been able to reinforce because of how consistent I have been with writing is a shift in my vocabulary. To be honest, I didn’t even know how that change manifested, because it is not like I studied an entire thesaurus or anything adjacent to that.

When you write for a while, or do anything that you love for that matter, I guess there are some latent human capabilities that you come to unlock along the way.

Not to mention my confidence has been surging lately, with me finding a hobby that didn’t require me to give full concentration to my social anxiety, and how I act in a crowd. Speaking to people and acting in social events has been going great.

For the longest time, and especially since I graduated high school, I wanted to complete the puzzle that is my life, and I simply needed to find that mystery piece that fit into it. Low and behold, I guess writing was what I had needed all along.
