Game of Thrones is one of those shows in a long time that keeps you on the edge of the seat. You feel like you cannot watch the next episode.
Even before the GoT (Game of Thrones) final season has been released, my feelings are a concoction of excitement and fear, occurring at the same time.
I am afraid when GoT gets over, in which century would I have something to match GoT standards? Would there be a time in the future when we get GoT like a series binge on? And I am excited beyond comparison. Finally, we have one more GoT season to watch.
Game of Thrones (TV Series) is one of the most beloved serials in television history. With the IMDb 9.5/10 ratings in popularity, fans all around the globe are waiting impatiently about its next, and unfortunately, the last season.
I am sure all fans must have fear and excitement at this point because when GoT last season will get over, we would miss it badly.
Here are 20 moments and elements that we’ll miss, after the end of the epic, 9-year-old TV serial, Game of Thrones:
1) Conspiracies:
With the end of Game of Thrones last season, the era of conspiracies will end. How Ned Stark was beheaded, or how Cersei Lannister set a fire in the Sept of Baelor, or how Lord Petyr Baelish “Littlefinger” conspired against almost everyone? Now he’s a gone case. All hail to Sansa and Arya Stark, who killed him in season 7. No more conspiracies now.
2) Dragons and their mother:
Our Daenerys Stormborn of the House Targaryen, the First of Her Name, the Unburnt, Queen of Meereen, Queen of the Andals and the Rhoynar and the First Men, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Breaker of the Chains and Mother of Dragons, apparently has two babies Drogon and Rhaegal. She lost Viserion (third dragon) in season 7 when the Night King killed it. We won’t see dragons and their mother in the future.
3) White walkers with the Night King:
This upcoming Game of Thrones season is all about white walkers and their Night King. We all know the tale how Children of the Forest from the First Men, created White-walkers and we also that they’ll get killed with the dragon glass. Thanks to Sam. But watching the whole army of dead coming towards living is already giving goosebumps. The mere thought of it is giving goosebumps. And we will miss them.
4) All those remaining Houses:
There were nine prominent houses when the show began - Targaryen, Stark, Lannister, Tully, Greyjoy, Tyrell, Martell, Arryn, and Baratheon. But as the end of the show, Game of Thrones is coming near, the houses are decreasing rapidly. Yet, we will miss the remaining number of houses.
5) Weird Gods and their worshippers:
Many-Faced God, R’hllor-the Lord of Light, Old Gods of the Forest, Drowned God, and The Seven are few of those gods that people worshipped in the Game of Thrones TV Show. Melisandre or The Red Woman/Priestess played a pivotal role when she awakens Jon Snow from dead. But these magical gods will die with the last season of GoT.
6) Love Stories which stood on some inexplicable pillars:
I am not talking about the relationship of Cersei and Jamie Lannister, but about those which started in last season of GoT, like Grey Worm and Missandei, Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen, etc. that will end even before they could start. The most intriguing love story of Game of Thrones is the story of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark. And like everyone else’s, their story would end even before its beginning.
7) Love Story That Never Happened:
Jorah Mormont’s love towards Daenerys is not hidden from anyone watching Game of Thrones. With so many memes on him on the internet, his one-sided love story is evident. Being a friend-zoned person, he still has no chance to get back the love of Daenerys now that she has Jon. And sadly, we won’t get to watch more of it in the future.
8) The whole plot:
Well, definitely the whole Game of Thrones plot is something that I can’t forget. In fact, nobody can forget. Once you are watching Game of Thrones, you are not certain that what will happen next in the whole scene. This is the beauty of Game of Thrones and it is impossible for other TV serials to copy this.
9) Hunger for the crown:
At one side Daenerys Targaryen and on the side Cersei Lannister are here to compete for the crown but it's not likely to happen. With Cersei already acquiring the Iron Throne, and Daenerys coming from so far to reach Westeros, the scene is all set to watch in the next Game of Thrones season. However, as the last GoT season goes off the air, this hunger for the crown will end.
10) The twist and turn:
Watching Game of Thrones is more like sitting on the roller coaster ride. You never know what will happen next. But once GoT last season is gone, there wouldn’t be any twist and turn coming anytime sooner.
11) Ending of a story before its beginning:
Remember how in the final episode of Game of Thrones season 7, Bran Stark saw a vision about Jon Snow that actually not a ‘Snow’ but Aegon Targaryen rightful heir to the Iron Throne to Sam, John’s friend? That’s the story of Lyanna Stark (Ned Stark’s sister) and Rhaegar Targaryen (Daenerys’ brother) who married secretly and had a son, who’s known as a bastard of Winterfell which eventually is our Jon Snow. Rarely do such masterpieces happen!
12) The Possible Entrance From The Past:
There are many people in the whole Game of Thrones series that we might not remember, but in this season, we can only speculate about their entry. One of them is Jaqen H’gar , the faceless man of the Braavos, who taught many things to Arya Stark when she was staying with him. With that ‘Ghost’ Jon Snow’s pet might return in this season playing an important role. Again, rarely do such masterpieces happen!
13) Wildlings and Their Wild Support:
Since the beginning, Wildlings were the enemy of the people living in the north. However, as time passed, they became loyal supporters of the king in the north. Thanks to Jon Snow for making them their friends, or else all the wildlings would be included in the army of the dead. But, with GoT marking its end, Wildings and their wild support will sublime forever.
14) The Clegane Brothers:
The unusually tall brothers, Ser Gregor Clegane ‘The Mountain’ and Sandor Clegane ‘The Hound’, are scary yet they are honest and loyal to the people whom they’re serving. We will miss them too.
15) All Fandom Theories:
With the end of this Game of Thrones season, strings to many fan theories will end. There would be nothing to actually think about. Like what will happen in the next season, or who might do what? All fandom theories will see a doom.
16) The Remaining Character:
Besides Starks, Lannisters, Targaryens, and Greyjoys, we’ll miss all those people who’re there not only to entertain us but also to play a pivotal role in the whole GoT series. Be it Lord Varys, Brienne of Tarth, Podrick Payne, Gendry, Beric Dondarrion, Ser Bronn of the Blackwater, or Ser Davos Seaworth among others, we’ll never forget them.
17) Characters We’ve Lost:
Be it Eddard Stark, Robb Stark, Catelyn Stark, Baratheon Brothers, Hodor, Oberyn Martell & almost everyone from his house, Thoros, we will miss them. All characters of Game of Thrones who died like a cruel death, will me in our memories.
18) Reunions:
I am eager to see the reunion of Arya Stark & Jon Snow. They both loved each other but unfortunately, parted their ways in the initial season. Bran Stark and Jamie Lannister, (although Jamie Lannister left Cersei for the people in the north) will meet Bran (crippled boy, now a third eyed raven) whom he pushed from the tower. Another one would be Arya Stark meeting with Gendry aka Gendry Baratheon. But once GoT gets over, these reunions won’t happen.
19) Links To Who’s Who to Whom:
Logical reasoning, right? The biggest revelation that we’d seen in the last season was of Jon Snow. Actually, Aegon Targaryen will get to know about his identity in this upcoming GoT season. What more shocking to him will be him loving his own aunt. And these links of GoT will be forever missed.
20) People Who Still Have Some Secrets To Reveal:
There are still many secrets hidden in the previous seasons of Game of Thrones, what I am eager to see is how they will connect it to the upcoming season’s episodes. And if they remain undisclosed, we’d be left with disappointment.
At this time, when we literally can start the countdown on our fingers, for the last season of Game of Thrones, these 20 elements bring tears in my eyes.
Teasing the fans after for a whole year, HBO has finally announced the date when the first episode will air on television. It’s getting really hard to wait patiently.
What is more interesting is those people who haven’t seen GoT are now watching it to get the know-how about what this serial is all about and also eagerly waiting for its next season.
With pictures, teasers, and trailer it’s not that easy to keep calm and carry on. If the sources are to be believed then the Game of Thrones movie will release after the end of the show.
But now all we can say is that Game of Thrones is coming, only to be gone forever.
