For years, our society confined women only in the four walls of their house. They were free to roam, but only in their house. They were encouraged to fulfill their role as a house wife and a mother, but no other roles. They were not able to pursue what they wanted, not even life skills.
However, with the inception of 21st century, thinking is changing gradually and thought processing is becoming smarter. Today’s mothers are coming out of their homes, driving cars, participating in activates, taking kids for outings and living their life.
In the matter of real world, mothers or women are not only better halves of us, but they are equal halves. They deserve the same quota of opportunities as men do. Coming up to this era, mothers are changing the world as they are best makers in every walk of life.
We Indians always look at women as motherly figures. They make us feel comfortable, even if they have to sacrifice their needs. Luckily, we have countless women who have contributed to make the world a better place.

1. Kiran Bedi
Kiran is the first woman to become an officer in the Indian Police Services in 1972. She’s a mother of her only daughter Saina Bedi. She is even a social activist, former tennis player, and a politician who is current Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry.
2. Chanda Kochhar
The women CEO and Managing Director of ICICI Bank, Chanda Kochhar led her organization and her family to new heights. She married her schoolmate, Deepak Kochhar and is blessed with two children (Arjun and Aarti). She even marked her space in the Forbes’ list of “Most Powerful Women Of the World”.
3. Indira Nooyi
Indra Krishnamurthy Nooyi is the mother of two daughters (Taara and Preetha), and CEO of PepsiCO, the second largest food and beverage company in the world by net revenue. Moreover, she is appointed as the first female independent Director by ICC in February 2018.
4. Sushma Swaraj
Shushma Swaraj is 66 years old with a grown daughter, Bansuri Swaraj. Besides being a mother, she’s a politician, former Supreme Court lawyer and at present, Minister of External Affairs. Simultaneously, she manages the affairs of her family internally too.
5. Mary Kom
"I have been juggling so many roles. I am a mother too, I have three sons to take care of. I don't even know how I manage to pull it off sometimes," she added. Kom is indeed seen as an inspiration to female athletes and women in general across India.
6. PT Usha
Pilavullakandi Thekkeparambil Usha, aka P.T. Usha, the retired Queen of Indian track and Field athlete. She is blessed with a son named Ujjwal Srinivasan. She is also known as Payyoli Express.
7. Dr. Tessy Thomas
The lady is an Indian Scientist in love with Rocket Science. She is named as Agniputri, the MISSILE WOMAN OF INDIA. She is the first woman to head an Indian Missile Project. All this while, Tessy tied a tight rope as a homemaker and a defense scientist.
8. Sunitha Krishnan
She was raped at the age of 8, and now she’s a social activist and the co-founder of NGO Prajwala. This NGO works on rescuing from brothels, rehabilitating and reintegrating sex-trafficked victims into society. She’s a mother to them all.
9. Anshu Jamsenpa
A 32-year-old mother of two and a mountaineer, Ansu Jamsenpa becomes the first woman to scale Mt Everest twice in 5 days. She is also one of the brand ambassadors of Clean India Campaign 2012-2013.
