The land where “Jugaad” is more popular than engineering, is the only place in the world where people are ready to wear shirts made out of pure gold, but not willing to praise the economy. The one and only place where people are ready to piss in the public but are allergic to kissing.

This incredible land is India, the nation we all belong to, the nation that still dreams of "Acche Din”. What a hypothetical expectation we are living with!

On the 69th Republic Day, here are 7 reasons why we should not be waiting for "Acche Din", putting aside the pride that we have, being Indians.

1. Taking Money Under The Table

Hope you might be familiar with the word "corruption." Or you may have experienced this delightful exchange, wherein a high ranked official charges an extra fee to do the task. They are filled with passion and love for the colorful papers, encashing people's wish to get their work done at first

2. Riots In The Name Of Cows

Reality lies only in the head of cow vigilantes. You may have heard about the violence that took place in the name of cows and you may have ignored it. But, these vigilantes need a reason to disturb peace and harmony. It is good to protect the cows, but attacking anyone under the pretext of doing social work is shameful.

3. Rurals Prefer Poor Sanitation

With movies like PadMan and Toilet: Ek Prem Katha spreading awareness amongst the masses along with entertainment, it is sad to notice that people love to defecate in open and use cloth for periods. The excuse, “Sacredness would be spoilt if they have toilets in the house." is holy shit. It is a satire on the dream of modern India.

4. Acid Plays Are A Common Event

So many girls have seen their life changed in seconds. Yes, when someone encounters an attack with devastating chemicals they see a rapid change in their lives. It is disheartening to notice that India has had more than 800 cases of acid attacks. Why should we be proud?

5. Child Labor Is Prioritized Over Education

Thousands of children work in illegal coal mines. Thousand more work in firecracker factories. in an age when children should go to school and have their education, the take up this worthy job, with the support of the parents, who pretend that it is their source of income.

6. Almost 100% Literacy Rate

We live in a country where a majority population is still illiterate. With multilingual diversity, we also have widespread illiteracy prevalent in India. And without an above 50% literacy rate across the entire nation, we shouldn't be really proud.

7. Non-Polluted Environment

While this is also true for the minds of people residing in India, it actually refers to the unclean air and water, that we use in daily life. The quality of air that we breathe and water that we drink is degrading every day. There are no measures or steps to regulate the widespread pollution!

And the list is endless.

This was not at all exaggeration, but an attempt to make you realize that you are an incredible Indian, who must bring about a change!

Change for India, by India, from India.

Happy Republic Day!
