1) Eden Gardens (Kolkata, West Bengal)

This Indian Cricket Stadium is the oldest and the second-largest stadium in India. The stadium is regarded as the “Home of Cricket” and the “Batsmen’s Paradise” because it has the fastest outfield when compared to other crickets stadiums in India. The place is unique in itself as On 22nd November 2019, it hosted the first-ever day/night test match in India during the second Test between India and Bangladesh.

2) M. A. Chidambaram Stadium or Chepauk Stadium or Madras Cricket Club Ground (Chennai, Tamil Nadu)

This Cricket Stadium is the second oldest stadium and was first known as “Madras Cricket Club Ground”, but was later named after the former BCCI President M.A.Chidambaram. The venue hosted the first-ever Ranji Trophy match in 1936 and the Indian cricket team's first-ever test victory in 1952 against England was witnessed here.

3) Arun Jaitley Stadium (New Delhi, National Capital Territory of Delhi)

This is one of the oldest Cricket Stadium in India which was established in the year 1883 and was named “Feroz Shah Kotla Ground”, but in 2019 the stadium was renamed in respect of the former Finance Minister “Arun Jaitely”.

Be it Sunil Gavaskar’s 29th test century, Anil Kumble’s 10 wicket innings against Pakistan, or Sachin Tendulkar’s 35th test century. All of these memories were made on this ground.

4) Brabourne Stadium (Mumbai, Maharashtra)

Several years ago the North Stand of this Cricket stadium was home to the BCCI headquarters and the 1983 World Cup trophy. It was the venue for the first T20 international played in India in 2007. Apart from cricket, the stadium has also been a host to many tennis and football matches and has even conducted music concerts and live shows.

5) Green Park Stadium (Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh)

This cricket stadium was named after a British Lady Madam Green who used to come here for Horse Riding. The stadium is even nicknamed “Billiard’s Table” and ‘Woolmer’s Turf’ in the memory of cricket coach Bob Woolmer. The stadium hosted the 500th test played by the Indian Team.

6) M. Chinnaswamy Stadium (Bengaluru, Karnataka)

This Indian Cricket Stadium was once known as Karnataka State Cricket Association Stadium (KSCA) but was later named after Mangalam Chinnaswamy who donated his land for the stadium. This stadium is 5 decades old and has been a host to several IPL, T20, ODI, and Test Matches. The stadium is the first in the world to get electricity through solar panels.

7) Wankhede Stadium (Mumbai, Maharashtra)

This Indian Cricket Stadium is one of the most renowned stadiums in the world. The stadium has single-handedly hosted numerous International Cricket Matches. The 2011 World Cup Final was held here and India won the finals on their home ground! The stadium even witnessed Sachin Tendulkar’s last match of his International Carrier.

8) Barabati Stadium (Cuttack, Odisha)

This Indian Sports Stadium hosts International Cricket Matches, Football Matches, concerts, and live shows. The stadium hosted the 2013 Women Cricket World Cup and even hosted the Santosh Trophy National Football Tournament.

9) Sardar Patel Stadium (Ahmedabad, Gujarat)

This cricket stadium is also known as “Motera Stadium”. It is the largest stadium in the world and has been a host to numerous International Cricket Matches. The stadium hosted the opening of "Namaste Trump", the inaugural visit of US President Donald Trump on 24 February 2020.

10) Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium or PCA Stadium (Mohali, Punjab)

This Stadium in India is popularly referred to as Mohali Stadium. The stadium was built by Geetanshu Kalra from Ambala. The floodlights in the stadium are unique and are not seen very easily in the other stadiums.

11) Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium or ACA-VDCA Stadium (Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh)

This is a multipurpose stadium in India and is mostly used to host cricket matches. The stadium is divided into two tiers and the pitch is known to be batsmen friendly.

12) Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium (Hyderabad, Telangana)

The stadium was first known as the Vishaka International Cricket stadium but was later changed to its current name. A lesser-known fact about this Cricket Stadium is that the Bangladesh Team played its first-ever test match on this ground.

13) Holkar Stadium (Indore, Madhya Pradesh)

This Indian Cricket Stadium was earlier known as Maharani Usharaje Trust Cricket Ground but was later changed to its current name in the year 2010 in honour of the Holkar dynasty of the Marathas. Virendra Sehwag scored 219 in an ODI match which is the third-highest score to be recorded all over the world.

14) Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium or New VCA Stadium (Nagpur, Maharashtra)

This is the largest cricket stadium in India in terms of field area and was built in the year 2004. The Stadium was host to several matches during the 2011 Cricket World Cup.

15) Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium or Subrata Roy Sahara Stadium (Pune, Maharashtra)

This is a newly built stadium and serves as the home stadium for the Maharashtra Association team and as the headquarters of the Maharashtra Cricket Association. The stadium has been the home ground for 6 matches for the Chennai Super Kings Team in IPL and has hosted several International Cricket Matches.

16) Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium or Khandheri Cricket Stadium (Rajkot, Gujarat)

This Cricket Stadium is the first solar power-dependent stadium in Gujarat.

The stadium hosted its first-ever International Match in the year 2013 and in the same year it hosted its first T20 between India and Australia.

17) JSCA International Cricket Stadium or HEC International Cricket Stadium (Ranchi, Jharkhand)

Established in 2011, this Cricket stadium was inaugurated in the year 2013. It serves as the home ground to the Chennai Super Kings of IPL. It is the first stadium in India to have two hill stands.

18) Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium (Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh)

This Indian Cricket stadium is built in the land of snow-capped mountains and has served as the home ground for the IPL team Kings XI Punjab.

The first one day international was played in the year 2013 and the stadium was established in the year 2003. In 2015, A Center for Excellence was set up there.

19) Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Sports Complex (Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh)

Named after an Indian Revolutionary Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik, this stadium is also known as Greater Noida Sports Complex Ground. It was the home ground of the Afghanistan Cricket Team. It even hosted the 2016 Duleep Trophy Matches.

20) Barsapara Stadium or Dr Bhupen Hazarika Cricket Stadium (Guwahati, Assam)

This Cricket Stadium is the largest in Northeast India. It is a new stadium and was inaugurated in the year 2017 by the CM of Assam. The Stadium is responsible for conducting domestic and international matches.

21) Greenfield International Stadium or Trivandrum International Stadium (Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala)

This Indian Cricket stadium hosts various Football and Cricket Matches and is India’s First DBOT(Design, Build, Operate, Transfer) model outdoor stadium. It became an International Stadium when it hosted its first India and New Zealand T20 Match in the year 2017.

22) Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium (Dehradun, Uttarakhand)

This is a multipurpose stadium that was established in the year 2016 and was regarded as an International Stadium in the year 2018.

The venue hosted its first ODI and Test match series during the Ireland and Afghanistan Match Series.

23) Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium or Ekana International Cricket Stadium (Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh)

This Is the third-largest Cricket Stadium in India and is named after our former Prime minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee. In 2019, The stadium became the third home ground in India for the Afghanistan Cricket Team.
