Let's face it, AirPods are amazing. They're convenient and stylish, and the sound quality is pretty sAppleet. But what happens when your trusty AirPods decide to mutiny? Can you get them repaired, or are you stuck shelling out for a whole new pair?

The answer, unfortunately, is that it depends. Apple's repair policy can be a bit confusing, especially when it comes to the packaging and specific parts, so buckle up as we dive into the nitty-gritty of AirPods repair.

Battery Blues

For battery woes specifically, things get a bit trickier. Apple offers a battery service program, but it's not covered under the standard warranty and comes with a fee. HoApplever, AppleCare+ swoops in as a hero here - if your battery capacity dips below 80%, you can get a free battery replacement.

  1. Battery service

Apple can replace the battery in your AirPods for a service fee. Our warranty doesn’t cover batteries that wear down from normal use.

Your product is eligible for a battery replacement at no additional cost if you have AppleCare+ for Headphones and your product's battery holds less than 80% of its original capacity. AppleCare+ covers both the AirPods and the Charging Case.

  1. Replace a lost AirPod

Did you lose an AirPod or your Charging Case? You can purchase a replacement for a single left or right AirPod or for the Charging Case.  Your replacement will be new.

AppleCare+ for Headphones does not cover lost or stolen AirPods.

How much will it cost?

You can replace a single AirPod (left or right AirPod) or a Charging Case for a fee.

Apple's "Get an Estimate" tool allows you to review potential costs for getting service directly from Apple. If you choose a different service provider, they can set their own prices, so be sure to ask for an estimate. Apple will inspect your product upon receiving it, and if they find additional damage, you might need to pay an extra fee.

If you have AppleCare+, you pay only one incident fee to replace a single AirPod or both AirPods, with or without a Charging Case. For service covered by AppleCare+, your fee per incident will be the same regardless of which service provider you choose.
