Why is the Nationwide Lockdown of 21 days done?
There are 2 ways of transmission of CoronaVirus of COVID-19 - (a) human to human transmission and (b) surface to human transmission.
(a) Human to human transmission occurs when your body knowingly or unknowingly comes in contact with the droplets that come out when an infected person coughs or sneezes. These droplets enter your body and spread the CoronaVirus. This kind of transmission can be prevented by social distancing only and that is why you are told to stay at home.
(b) Surface to human transmission occurs when your body knowingly or unknowingly comes in contact with a surface that has CoronaVirus dwelling on it. Since the life span of Coronavirus is not yet confirmed, any contaminated surface can transmit the disease. This kind of transmission can be prevented by washing hands with a good soap regularly and sanitizing your hands every time you touch any surface. You are advised to wash your hands at least 6 times a day. If possible, set up alarms in your phone for the same.
What precautions can we take while staying at home?
While not much is known about the novel Coronavirus, these are some precautionary measures that we can take. These do not guarantee that you won't catch the disease but surely help you beat the stress in this difficult time.
Even if you don’t have the symptoms or your Coronavirus tests are negative, you can follow this.
1. Consume vitamin C rich foods daily.
2. Drink hot water as soon as you wake up and before going to bed.
3. Eat proper nutritious meals, preferably with more proteins.
4. Drinks lots of water daily, at least 4 liters.
5. Have proper sleep, 7-8 hours.
6. Keep yourself active, do some exercises or yoga, to keep your immune system up and running.
7. Wash your hands regularly with soap, especially after touching surfaces.
8. Avoid going on roads or eating outside.
We must embrace the fact that this is for our own good and for our own society. The longer we don't comply with social distancing, the longer we will have to do it.
Let's be a responsible citizen of this beautiful world.
Let's stay in quarantine.
