Today I’m going to be talking about my favorite romance books, which may come a little bit as a surprise because I’ve been very vocal about my love of romance. I just don’t like romance usually, I feel like books pretend to be like fantasy or sci-fi, but there’s just an excuse to have a romance in there or like a love triangle, and I think they’re usually well not well done and I feel like they’re cringy, I hate sex scene. Do you just make me uncomfortable or just give me secondhand embarrassment? I just don’t like these things. However, if I had to choose my top five favorite ones, these would be the ones I would mention, because I’m not completely made of rock my heart isn’t completely dead. So let us start with our first book.

1.     Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky albertalli

I feel like this has been proper because the movie just came out. Yes, Simon vs.The Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli. I also like the second one, although not as much as this one, this is a why contemporary, where the main character, Simon realized, that he’s gay and he’s having this conversation online with Blue, who is also a teenage boy from the same school. Who is also like in the closet and someone bullies Simon whenever he finds out the email, conversation, and yeah? It’s just fun and wholesome, and its bullying is not fun and wholesome subject, but, like I like the characters and their relationship together with him and like his best friend and the movie was so so good love, Simon. I’m excited for a second one, and yeah. I feel like it’s perfect like summer, read everything even though it’s in school, but I can’t recommend this enough.

It was nice again. This is coming from someone that doesn’t usually like them, although this is more like coming of age in like pure romance. So, probably is why I liked it – and I also wanted to put a disclaimer right now before I go further because just because you also don’t like romance does not mean that you will like these. Don’T come at me whenever you like, I didn’t like them. I thought we had the same taste it’s romance so like this is another objective probably like. If you usually hate romance, doesn’t mean you’re going to love it. I’m glad I made that clear: let’s keep going.

2.     Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J Maas

I wanted to mention the Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J Maas. As I said, I didn’t like a court of thorns and roses. I found it again very cringy I hated their romance and my opinion changed the second book. I feel like every time I talk about it. People like come at me, I mean the second book explains some of those things and I’m glad I wasn’t crazy to not like who runs, but this one was so much better and I feel, like part of the reason I like it is probably because of That, but this felt like a fantasy that had of romance in there, although it was still romance heavy, and there was some sex scene that I just have completely erased from my memory because I’m pretty much scarred for life.

But if you just remove that from the equation, this was a fun book. I loved the relationship between so many characters there was a group of friends and again felt kind of wholesome, and there was some great fun to see elements in there. The ending was a little convenient, but that’s a different story but yeah I liked the romance in here like I didn’t – love, love it because once again cringy sex scenes, but this was so much better than the first one, and I know that if someone likes romance, they will like this. Yes, this is more like a new adult than why, and yet a new adult fantasy and with fairies didn’t mention any of that, but I feel like at this point. Everyone knows what this book is about, so human fairies romance.

3.     The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Reid

Another recommendation would be The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Reid. This is the only adult book in here, and it’s the only one that made me cry, which I do not cry easily once again, it’s not that I’m completely heartless like I will cry when my friend is crying kept a thing, but like reading a book, I just don’t usually care about the characters that much, but this one I cared so much and honestly, if there’s only one book, you must read from this recommendation, It’s this one. It’s a perfect summary. It reads a little bit like a chiclet, and I wasn’t expecting to like this as much as I did.

You’re following an old Hollywood star and she’s, telling her whole life story for the first time and she’s telling it through her 7 husbands? And it’s a tell-all. She’s revealing who was her one true love and it’s just heartbreaking. The characters are flawed, but they’re complex and I felt so attached to her story. She was again not perfect, but lovable, and I would love love to see a movie made at this book and I’m sure it will well yeah if you’re looking for, like 1 book to read for summer. Anyone would pretty much enjoy this because, like I said it pretty much reads it like a chiclet but like a deep, deeper chiclet but yeah. I love this one. I can’t recommend this enough. I don’t own a physical copy because I read it on a whim from my library, but I will purchase a physical copy of it whenever I find one because so good, I want to like give this to everyone.

4.     The Winners Curse trilogy by Marie Rutkoski

So if that one is my number 1, this one would probably be my number two and it is The Winners Curse trilogy by Marie Rutkoski, and you know how I said I feel like sometimes the fantasy is just like an excuse to have a romance. This is a wife fantasy series, but I don’t feel like it’s just an excuse to have. It’s romance-heavy, but I feel like there’s enough, like political intrigue, to make it interesting, and I was interested it’s something that, I don’t usually binge-read series and I did it with this one. So that kind of just says it all and like I even went and purchased like hardcovers new ones with my money, like I’m, usually only buying pretty much-used books just because it’s not in my budget – and I did it because this one so following you in character and she’s, a daughter of general and in her society, when people hit at least 17, they have a choice to either get married or become a soldier and, since she’s, a daughter of the general it’s kind of expected of her that She will become a soldier, but she doesn’t want to.

So it’s kind of dark in the beginning and then it’s going to sound so cringy one day she is at the market and a slave is being sold and he catches her eyes and blah blah blah yeah. You got it, but it’s not that cringe door. Some people like romance-heavy scenes. Oh my god, I’m loving this. If you want to giggle kind of shyly, I recommend reading this series. I believe the second one was my favorite one. I would reread this. I probably will because it’s one of the first books that I started reading, so I probably will be re-reading this but, as I said, there’s a lot of like political intrigue with the romance. So it’s not overly romantic. Even though it is still full of romance, I feel like I’m explaining all of these things so badly.

5.     The Remnant Chronicle Trilogy

Then last but not least, The Remnant Chronicles Trilogy the first book being The Kiss of Deception by Mary Pearson, and I feel like this was popular, but the first book starts by you following again a young girl. She is supposed to get married to the prince of a different Kingdom to try and bring peace, and she has never met him, she’s, not interested. So the day of the wedding she runs away, and two men are going after her. There is the prince she was supposed to marry and the assassins sent to kill her to prevent this wedding, and this is going yes, it has like a bunch of like love triangles in here throughout the whole series. So if you hate them, I usually hate them, and I was kind of okay with this one, although I’m not super happy with who she finished, that’s a different story to get it, I’m not super happy. What’s interesting in this, one is the fact that in the first books you don’t know who is who, throughout the whole story, so you kind of left guessing who’s the prince, whose assassin, and who is she going to, fall in love with everything, and I like that.

Each book became bigger and bigger like the first book is just like you know, or a little life in that little village, where she escapes to and then becomes about. Oh, one of the kingdoms and then, though, like all the kingdoms, everything the whole planet is fighting and everything. So, yes, I recommend this series if you’re looking for a romance kind of heavy but a lot, and I mean a lot of political intrigues even more than this one. I believe, and if you like wars and everything I recommend The Remnant Chronicles and I believe the author just released another book in that same universe, the dance of Teebs, which I still need to check out. But I’m hoping is going to be good for you.

But this trilogy is a favorite of mine, especially since they contain some romance, which is not something I usually love, but I do in this one again. Just because I loved it doesn’t mean you will, if you don’t like romance so this again, those are my five favorite books that contain romance. I always say I hate romance and it’s not a hundred percent true, just mostly true and it’s we’ll see about books because I don’t mind romance and movies and everything. I think it’s just that too often there’s the use of the excuse of oh, it’s a fantasy book, but not it’s just romance or the awkward sex scene, especially in adult books like I was complaining about it.

So, those are my favorite ones.
