Me: Psst…Psst...

Brain: Ouhh you again! What is it now?

Me: Dude, you are working for me not the other way around! Adjust your attitude.

Brain: Sorry sir, how may I help you?

Me: I have to write a story and publish it on Medium, but I don’t have any ideas. Bring me a list of ideas.

Brain: I’m already exhausted by the math problem you made me solve. I need to rest for a bit.

Me: That was my niece’s homework, she is in 5th grade! You are worn out by those sums?

Brain: Ok! Ok! hear me out.

The ideas are already there you only need to scrutinize, pick one idea randomly and dig it. Here’s how you do that.

Convert the idea into a topic. Don’t think of a better idea. Even If It seems silly.

I call it a “draft idea”. Work on it. It will take you to the unique and promising idea you are looking for.

Do free writing on it. Explore this idea, don’t pause, trust me, just write around it. The topic could be anything, I (your brain) will tell you It’s stupid but don’t believe me. Write to bring value even to the ridiculous idea.

When you are done writing 200–400 words, there will be a chaos of new and quality ideas in front of you.

By exploring the first idea I present to you, you are removing the layers of unnecessary clutter and mining real ideas. Try it! Trust the process.
