Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is an Indian actress, born on November 1, 1973, in Mangalore, Karnataka. Aishwarya’s father, Krishnaraj Rai, and mother, Vrinda Rai and she also has an older brother, Aditya Rai, who chose his career as an engineer in the Merchant Navy. Aditya Rai also co-produced Dil Ka Rishta in one of Aishwarya's films.
Before choosing acting as a career, she was a model and became Miss World in 1994. She has acted in more than 40 films in Hindi, English, Tamil, and Bengali. Her first successful role was in a Tamil film called Jeans.
She made her acting debut in 1997 opposite Mohanlal in Mani Ratnam's Tamil biopic Iruvar. The film was a huge success and won several awards, including Best Picture at the Belgrade International Film Festival.

The story revolves around a young woman named Sahiba, who witnesses the brutal murder of a young woman on her college campus. Criminals follow her as she tries to flee the house. She was rescued by an army captain named Karan, who saw her being beaten at the train station. During the journey, Sahiba reveals that she is in a very difficult situation.
