A world without women

What do you think it would happen if all women would fall asleep and never wake up?

I’m reading Sleeping Beauties by Stephen King and his son Owen King, very interesting so far, I started reading it about 2 years ago, but I had a hard time finding the time to finish it, it has over 700 pages, so not an easy read, plus it’s in English and it’s not my native language with all the complexity in the authors marvelous writing.

I can’t wait to see the ending, I have about 300 pages to go and it’s getting really exiting.

Action takes place in a town named Dooling, in the Appalachia region in the USA when a strange young woman nicknamed Evie Black (in the absence of her real name), violently murders 2 men in their mobile home/math lab.

Shortly after, there is news from all over the world that girls and women of all ages start to fall into a deep sleep and mysteriously cocooned by a strange material while they slept.

The disease also causes the sleeping women to enter into a homicidal rage, attacking and brutally murdering any adult who tries to open the cocoons, but get this, the children are safe around them if they wake up, they would handle the children to a adult nearby or a safe place and just go back to sleep.

Past the middle of the book the asleep women wake up in a in an alternate dimension, the women find themselves in a post-apocalyptical Dooling, which they refer to as “Our Place”. How much I love a good fiction book, Stephen King never let me down.

But it’s interesting the idea the authors pointed out, what would happen in a world without women? The authors laid out some ideas, chaos breaks out in the world, the women are trying desperately to stay awake, men are becoming very violent, who would not be terrified if his spouse, daughter, sister, mother are all falling into a coma-like sleep?

An apocalyptical scenario plays out. It’s not right to have only one of the two sexes. The balance of the world is broken. Everyone has it’s purpose, plus, if all women/people with uteruses disappear, there will be the actual end of the world (of the human species per say) because there will be no more babies, right? But same would happen if all men disappear, women without men would not be able to procreate as far as I know.

In the book someone says at some point that the women will all go to sleep until all men died and then wake up and impregnate themselves with the huge amount of sperm in sperm banks, and create a whole different world. That an interesting story waiting to be written, huh?

If I think about it, if all women would disappear there will be not much time for humans on earth. But women are much more than uteruses, and baby making machines. Women complete men and men complete women.

Often the woman is the one who make a house a home, I’ve seen it with my own eyes, she is the one who is gentle with the sick and the little ones. It’s in the ADN that most of the women are more gentle and nurturer than men. Men are strong, they protect, the use physical force that most women could never have.

Studies show that wars, aggressiveness and violence are mostly started and played out by men, so without any women to calm down her man and make him happy, the world might become a huge warzone. NOT ideal.

Suicide rates would blow up, crimes would worsen, economy would go down and eventually the end.

Women need men and men need women, for happiness, for purpose in life and for the wellbeing of our species. Can you imagine if there would be no sweet female voices, no girl laughter, no cute outfits, no more of the sexy curves of a woman, less color, no more love between a man and a woman.

Bottom line is both men and women are needed for happiness, for survival, for the calibration of the world. Every good man needs a good woman, but it’s not for me to decide.
