Godaan revolves around a poor peasant Hori who despite many problems in his life like getting cheated by his brother, being unable to pay back loans, etc continues being honest and good to everyone.

Published in the year 1958 The Guide is a novel by R.K. Narayan. The novel won the Sahitya Akademi Award in 1960. The story is about a tour guide named Raju who falls in love with a tourist named Rosie. He encouraged her to follow her passion for dancing and later tried to control her life and also got arrested due to signature forging. Raju later became a spiritual guide and then into a holy man.
