Whoever thanked the advancement of digital age to stay connected to the people we love and make new friends from all different parts of the world and culture? LOL. Personally me, I’m glad to a part of the where I can express my ideas freely and connect with my friends at any time I want. The thought of having to wait for over 3-4 days and sometimes even longer seems terrifying when it is urgent business or life and death things. So, here are my top 10 social networking platforms to stay connected with people.

1. WhatsApp— This is probably the most dynamic, most widely used social networking/messaging application all over Asia. People of every age group use it. Its easy interface makes it even a better pick for older people who use it for video calling their children, grandchildren etc. Forget Asia, it is widely used in all countries by everybody to message and interact with each other.

2. X (formerly known as Twitter)— This app is one of my favourite apps, you can tweet one liner thoughts to anything that you can think of. Go through the hashtags and find the recent trends in your country and most of all, you can follow like minded people and curate your timeline according to your interests.

3. Instagram— Do I need to say more? One of the most used applications in the entire world and literally used by everyone for staying connected with their friends, fans, etc. You can doom scroll and watch reels made by creators all day long, some reels you will find extremely relatable. You can post pictures in your feed and your friends can like and comment on them.

4. Facebook— At a whopping 2.8 billion of monthly users, facebook is a name that almost all the households know. Mark Zuckerberg really went out on a limb when he created this app and the history that came along with it.

5. Pinterest— One of the most aesthetically pleasing apps there is. For every girl out there creating mood boards of her favourite outfits, or weather or house; in fact, anything! It’s a social media which is popular among young girls who like to create mood boards and themes for their dream life through ‘pins’.

6. YouTube— This social media platform is the go-to for all your video needs. It might be a music video, or a tutorial or a video essay; this application is the answer.

7. Snapchat— An app to send quick little snapshots and it provides unlimited amount of storage all backed up? Don’t worry, snapchat’s got you!!

8. Reddit— It definitely is taking over Google as the ‘front page of the internet’. With its vast collection of subreddits for any topic one can possibly imagine, it is so easy to talk to people who have had previous or ongoing similar experiences or situations.

9. LinkedIn— This is a professional social networking site, mostly used to connect with people from your own field or others, companies post job openings and you update your profile with your curriculum.

10. Quora— It is a site for answering ‘queries’ or questions. A person can ask any question related to basically anything and someone will probably answer you.
